Hi, I’m Estefanía!

But you can call me Nía.

I am a product and visual designer with a background in architecture.

For as long as I remember, before I even knew what design was, I have always loved drawing characters and places. As I grew, my love for creating matured into a career in architecture, where I was able to make new types of drawings that required critical thinking and research. During my graduate education, I discovered my passion for visual/graphic design through 3D modeling, animation, and new unconventional and stylistic ways of drawing.

My professional background in architecture focused on working in interdisciplinary teams to design buildings from concept to construction. My work focused on conducting research and solving for multidimensional projects where the main priority was to fulfill the client’s needs. Although I enjoyed architecture, I felt like a part of me was missing. I have always strived to create designs that evoke emotions and tell stories. Once I entered the professional field, I realized that what I most enjoyed were the early stages where I got to learn about the client and their needs, conduct research to better understand them and then work on concepts for potential design solutions. This is when my search for a career change started.

My interest in UX/UI stems from that creative need and the desire to be part of a collaborative team that is research driven and prioritizes human-centered design. My goal is to be part of a team where I can merge my background and new skills to design and build digital experiences that are both beautiful and functional for users.

I am very excited to continue honing my current skills and learning more so I can contribute to designing digital products that help to improve processes and provide amazing experiences for people.

In my free time, you can find me trying to learn something new! I love painting, drawing, knitting, sewing, and anything that challenges me creatively. Let’s connect!
